I suddenly had flashbacks of when I was 7 years old. At that time, my grandmother was gravely ill and was dying. I used to be Catholic, and we used to have a statue of Jesus on a mini altar in our house. We used to hold novenas there, and have prayer vigils for her. My parents used to make us lead the rosary prayers in turns. I remember crying over it because it made my lola’s pending demise seem closer. This memory feels like a different life, being decades ago, and also being an ex-Catholic now. How time flies.
